Make a Will in 2021

With Christmas over and 2021 beginning, we’re all full of good intentions and many of us look to make a New Year’s resolution. Realistically, we often a struggle to achieve these as statistics tell us that most people fail 4 out of 5 resolutions. With this in mind, make sure creating a Will is one of the resolutions you keep, as this could make a huge difference for you and your loved ones in the future. It might not help you to drop a dress size, or to finally run that half marathon you’ve been talking about for ages, but getting your planning in order and writing a Will is the best way to ensure your loved ones, who you may have spent time with or greatly missed this Christmas, are provided for. The vast majority of people put off making a Will for a variety of reasons, either believing that the people they would wish to inherit will automatically do so, or because they don’t think it is relevant to them at this particular time. The reality is that you can put off making a Will until it is too late and this poses all sorts of problems for the people left behind and could mean that some or all of your inheritance is lost or goes to the wrong person. Even those of you who already have a Will should use this time to take another look. If you do have an existing Will, does it reflect your current circumstances? If the worst was to happen, would your Will achieve what you want it to? Ensure all your affairs are in order by starting the New Year with a new Will.
